How air source heat pumps work
An air source heat pump is a compact, electrical appliance about the same size and shape as an air conditioning unit. It is usually placed outdoors at the side or back of a property. It absorbs heat from the outside air and boosts it to a higher temperature using a heat pump. This heat can then be used to heat radiators, underfloor heating systems, or warm air convectors and provide hot water in your home. An air source heat pump will provide you with heating and hot water all year round!
Renewable Heat Incentive (FHI)
The Renewable Heat Incentive is a government financial incentive to promote the use of renewable heat. It was introduced to encourage the uptake of renewable technologies, such as heat pumps, whilst lowering the UK’s carbon emissions. Domestic RHI will pay money to Homeowners for choosing to install renewable technologies, creating financial savings for you as well as making a contribution towards carbon reduction. Since it’s introduction in April 2014, the scheme has already seen thousands of people successfully benefit from the scheme!
